Meet New Friends
Many residents at Wesley Palms share a special bond with each other that goes beyond common interests. Take the Wesley Palms poker crew. Once a week this group of residents gets together to play everything from Texas Hold ‘Em to Seven Card Stud. You might not know it from their poker faces, but the group includes people of all backgrounds including a five-star general. A common love of the game may have originally brought this group together, but today their weekly game is as much about friendship and camaraderie as it is about holding the winning hand.
Residents Don and Jane Giddings love to play games, but not with cards. Don and Jane host a weekly croquet & cocktails soirée for their neighbors. It’s a longtime Tuesday afternoon tradition – six years and running - where old and new friends swing croquet mallets, share laughs, Mission Bay views and a nice meal in the Wesley Palms dining room. And while the croquet court serves as a meeting place for friends, it means quite a bit more to the Giddings. Having arrived at Wesley Palms separately, the two fell in love at Don’s croquet get-togethers and even got married on the patio here, next to the croquet court. |
